Carolyn Ann Seltzer, 72 of Midland, VA died on Jan. 31, 2010 at her home.
She was born on June 25, 1937 to Raymond E. and Swannie P. Collie in Brooklyn, NY. The family lived in North Carolina until 1944, Pittsburgh PA until early 1947 then moved to New Galilee, PA. She attended a two-room school in New Port, PA. She graduated from Mt. Jackson High School in 1955 and from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA earning a BS degree in Business Education in 1958.
She married James L. Seltzer on July 31, 1959 and lived in Virginia, Florida, Texas, Maine and California before settling in Midland, VA in 1972 to rear their family. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Carolyn ministered to those in her community. Many cakes, cards and personal visits were enjoyed by those she served. She took to heart the request to “feed my sheep”.
Carolyn was a lady of wit and wisdom and will be sorely missed by her adoring family, loving friends, neighbors and church family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Coleen Cooper of Midland, VA; sons- James L. Seltzer, Jr. of Centreville, VA and Thomas R. Seltzer of Hartwell, Ga; grandsons- P. J., Joshua and Adam Cooper, Gavin and Colin Seltzer, granddaughters- Molly, Cassie and Carolyn Seltzer, her step grandsons- Dustin and Dylan Frazier.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-7 PM PM at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA. A funeral service will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Midland, VA on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 3 PM. Interment in the church cemetery.
